The Vietnam-Malaysia International Chemical Congress (VMICC) kicked off in Hanoi on November 7, drawing 200 participants from Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, and other Asian countries.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac appreciated the theme of the congress “Chemical Research for Sustainable Socio-economic Development” and expressed his belief that it will help boost cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia in the field.
Vietnam wants to cooperate with other countries in the chemical field and its collaboration with Malaysia plays an important role in sustainable socio-economic development, said President of the Chemical Society of Vietnam (CSV) Le Quoc Khanh.
Meanwhile, Ong Eng Long, President of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, stated that his organisation will continue joining hands with Vietnam to boost the development of the chemical sector in the country.
The three-day congress will discuss low-energy, environmental friendly technologies and research on new chemical materials and products, particularly tropical minerals and herbs.-VNA
