Vietnam, Morocco see potential for multi-sector cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc discussedpotential fields for bilateral cooperation with President of the Moroccan Houseof Representatives Habib El Malki during a meeting in Hanoi on December 19.

PM Phuc lauded outcomes of talks between his guest andNational Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and stressed his belief thatthe ongoing trip in Vietnam of the Moroccan legislator would open up good prospectsfor the partnership between the two countries’ governments and parliaments.

For his part, Habib El Malki praised Vietnam’ssocio-economic achievement, adding that as both countries are investing heavilyin infrastructure as a basis for economic development, there is great potentialfor bilateral engagement in the field.

Morocco is willing to share experience with Vietnam insectors of its strength such as clean energy, fertilizer production, banking,and IT with Vietnam, he said.

The Moroccan legislator stated Vietnam is an importantpartner of his country, urging the two countries should coordinate to increasebilateral trade. 

Morocco wants to increase the exchange of high-rankingdelegations with Vietnam, he said, expressing his wish that PM Phuc will soonpay an official visit to his country to promote comprehensive cooperation.

PM Phuc agreed that the two sides should share experience infields of their strength, and should act promptly to increase bilateral tradeimmediately next year. He said Vietnam, as a participant of variousnew-generation free trade agreements and an APEC member economy, can helpMorocco expand its market.

The PM also suggested tourism and agriculture for bilateralcooperation.

Phuc said he will assign relevant agencies to study thepotential for joint projects with Morocco, while in the immediate future, thetwo sides should promote exchanges between their business communities.-VNA
