Vietnam, Mozambique mark diplomatic ties

The Mozambique’s Embassy in Vietnam held a ceremony in Hanoi on June 25 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Gamiliel Munguambe saidthe founding diplomatic relations in 1975 marked the friendship, peaceand development of the two nations.

Vietnam andMozambique supported each other during the cause of nationalindependence, reunification, and development, he said.

The two sides have strengthened cooperation in various fields such aspolitics, external affairs, and economics to culture,education-training, and telecommunication, he added.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said Vietnam is a close friend of Mozambican people.

Vietnam is pleased with the impressive achievements thatMozambique has gained in the political, social and economic realms,which help Mozambique become one of the African countries having thehighest growth, he said.

He added that the two countries have expanded bilateral cooperative ties in various fields for mutual development.

The Minister said he hopes the bilateral relations will be furtherstrengthened in the coming time for the benefits of the two peoples.

Earlier, a wide range of activities were held in Maputo and Hanoi to mark the two countries’ diplomatic ties.-VNA

Vietnam confers Friendship Order on Austria–Vietnam Society, Honorary President

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang said the Friendship Order symbolises the Vietnamese State's recognition of Jankowitsch's more than six decades of unwavering dedication to fostering bilateral relations. The award, he added, also reflects the profound gratitude and appreciation of the Vietnamese people for his work.

Vietnamese naval vessel begins friendship visit to China
