This remark was made by Lawrence Spinelli, Director of Public Affairs for the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), at a meeting with the press in Ho Chi Minh City on March 2.
Spinelli said OPIC will host its seventh international investment conference in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta from May 3-5 with the participation of over 250 US investors worldwide.
The event, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, will target emerging markets in the region such as Indonesia , Vietnam , Malaysia , the Philippines , Thailand and Laos , he said.
The conference is expected to serve as a forum for US investors and their partners to discuss areas they are interested in, including trade finance, infrastructure, tourism and renewable energy./.
