New Delhi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Consulate General in Nepal went into operation on October 23 after an opening ceremony in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital city.
Speaking at the event, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Bhutan and Nepal, Ton Sinh Thanh, said Vietnam and Nepal have similarities in culture and history and the relationship between the two countries has been strengthened over the last 41 years.
The opening of the consulate general in Kathmandu marks an important landmark, helping boost bilateral trade and protect Vietnamese citizens who live and work in Nepal.
On the occasion, Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh congratulated Dr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha on being appointed as Vietnam’s honourary consul general in Nepal.
Dr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha expressed his honour on becoming the honorary consul general and pledged to contribute to promoting trade, investment, culture and tourism cooperation.
