Vietnam presents book on Uncle Ho to Cuba

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba, Vu Chi Cong, on July 20, presented a Spanish-language book entitled “Ho Chi Minh collection” to the Jose Marti National Library of Cuba to mark the 50 th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Cong highlighted Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionarylife, his patriotism and international spirit, adding that theVietnamese Party and people are making an effort to learn and follow hismoral examples to build a more prosperous country as he desired.

He also conveyed his thanks to the Party, State and people of Cuba fortheir support to Vietnam in its struggle for national independence andreunification in the past as well as national construction and defenceat present.

In response, Deputy General Director oflibrary Nancy Machando thanked the Vietnamese Party and people for theprecious gift, saying that it will help to enrich the library’sdocumentation on the thought, career and life of President Ho Chi Minh.

Books on President Ho Chi Minh and issues of theVietnam Pictorial were also given to library’s branches in 14 cities andprovinces across Cuba./.

Over 1.2 million students begin national high school graduation exam

Under the current examination format, candidates are required to complete the mandatory Literature and Mathematics tests, along with a combined test comprising two subjects selected from a range of options, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Technology-Industry, Technology-Agriculture, and Economics-Law. Students may also choose to take a foreign language different from the one studied at school.

Rare green sea turtle released back into the wild in Quang Tri

The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), locally known as vich, is a rare and protected species under Vietnamese law. It is also listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a species of conservation concern and is included in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
