Vietnam rescues two distressed foreigners at sea

Two foreigners who fell serious ill on the Panamanian passenger ship Ocean Dream, 298 nautical miles off central Khanh Hoa province , were safely taken ashore and given for treatment on November 29.

One of the two victims is an Indonesian sailor named Mahmudi who was suffering from diabetes and acute diarrheoa. The other named Michiko Yamaguchi is an 81-year-old Japanese passenger who has been initially diagnosed with blood entering the pulmonary circulation.

As soon as receiving distress signals from the ship on November 28, the Vietnam Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre for Zone 4 sent its SAR27-01 vessel to access the foreign ship and provide first aid to the victims as soon as possible.-VNA
