Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in preventing corruption in Hanoi on Feb. 3.

Signatories included Vu Tien Chien, Chief of the office of the Central Steering Board for Anti-Corruption, and Jae Oh Lee, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of the RoK.

The two officials described the event as an important step towards cooperation between the two countries in the spirit of equality, sovereignty respect and mutual benefits.

The MoU will create favourable conditions for the two countries to conduct their international duties stipulated in the UN Treaty on anti-corruption, and contribute to boosting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The two sides will exchange information, documents and professional experiences in the field, organise seminar and forums on anti-corruption in each country, as well as share experiences in applying advanced technology in anti-corruption./.
