Hanoi (VNA) – The signing of the regular Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to resume the reception of Vietnamese labourers to work in the Republic of Korea (RoK) under the Employment Permit System (EPS) will help step up the two countries’ ties, particularly in the labour field.

The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam during his reception in Hanoi on May 17 for RoK Minister of Employment and Labour Lee Ki-kweon.

Dam suggested the two sides maintain close coordination in implementing measures to reduce the number of illegal Vietnamese guest workers in the RoK, including the provision of information about labourers whose work contracts have expired.

He asked the RoK side to help Vietnam in managing its workers in the RoK.

The Vietnamese Government will always create all favourable conditions for Korean citizens and investors to live and do business in Vietnam, he confirmed.

The Korean minister stated that Vietnamese workers are well adaptive to the working environment in the RoK.

The signing of the MoU will open up more opportunities for Vietnamese labourers who want work in the RoK and for those who are residing and working illegally in the RoK but volunteer to return home, he said.-VNA
