Vietnam, Russia hold 7th strategic dialogue

The 7th annual VN-Russia Strategic Dialogue on Diplomacy-Defence-Security took place in HCM City on Nov. 15.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and his Russian counterpart IgorMorgulov co-chaired the 7th annual Vietnam-Russia Strategic Dialogueon Diplomacy-Defence-Security in Ho Chi Minh City on November 15.

Thetwo sides discussed measures to accelerate their bilateral relations,and compared notes on international and regional issues of their commonconcerns.

They stressed that the regular bilateral high-levelcontact and dialogue have contributed to enhancing mutual trust andcreating a firm foundation for cooperation in other fields between thetwo countries.

Host and guest agreed to bolster comprehensive cooperation in economics as well as in defence, security and military technology.

Theyaffirmed that the two sides will continue their close and effectivecoordination at international forums, especially the United Nations andother regional mechanisms.

On that same day, Igor Morgulov paid a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan.-VNA

452 lawmakers, or 94.56% of the total number of deputies present, voted in favour the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, while the amended Excise Tax Law was adopted with 448 out of 454 deputies present voting in favour, accounting for 93.72% of the total.

The Vietnamese leader proposed Uppsala University establish a partnership with a national university in Vietnam; strengthen collaboration in education, research, and academic exchanges with Vietnamese institutions; and offer scholarships to Vietnamese students and researchers, thus advancing the newly established sectoral strategic partnership in science, technology, and innovation between the two countries.
