Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City convened its 1 st congress on August 23 with the participation of over 120 members.
The congress also elected the association’s a 25 member executive board headed by Bui Quang Hai for 2014-2019.
The congress set tasks for its 5 year plan including boosting cultural, scientific and economic ties between the two countries.
Speaking at the congress, Hai said Vietnam-Slovakia Association in HCM City serves as a bridge for strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding between two nations.
Slovakian Ambassador to Vietnam Igor Pacolak, on this occasion, expressed his belief that the association’s members will contribute many initiatives on promoting education, trade and tourism ties between the two countries- VNA
