
Beijing (VNA) - Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) Ngo Van Tuan on March 19 held working sessions with Dai Xi, Director of the Audit Bureau of Chongqing, and Hu Henghua, Mayor of Chongqing, within the framework of his visit to China.
Welcoming the SAV delegation, Dai expressed his hope that the trip will open up new cooperation opportunities for both sides.
Briefing the host of the outcomes of his working session with the National Audit Office of China, Tuan appreciated the effective cooperation between the two agencies over nearly two decades, particularly the maintenance of the annual joint seminars with topics aligned with international auditing trends.
On March 17, the two sides signed their fourth Memorandum of Understanding, demonstrating their commitments to long-term, practical, and effective cooperation, in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China this year, he said.
The Director of the Chongqing Audit Bureau suggested the two sides maintain regular communication channels to exchange information and closely coordinate in the coming time.
On this occasion, a seminar was held to exchange experience in prevention and control of wastefulness and misuse of resources, assets, and budgets. The seminar emphasised the role of auditing in monitoring the effective use of public resources, enhancing accountability, and preventing financial losses.

On the same day, Tuan met with Mayor of Chongqing Hu Henghua who expressed his desire for cooperation between the city government and the SAV to enhance budget management efficiency, strengthen transparency, and improve accountability.
The two sides exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation, with focus on sharing experience in the fields of auditing and public financial management./.
