Vietnam will help Japanese businesses operate successfully in the country by improving the investment environment and issuing preferential policies for them, President Truong Tan Sang has said.
The state leader made the pledge on November 22 in Hanoi during a reception for Nakagaki Yoshihiko, Vice President of the International Friendship Exchange Council of Japan and President of the Japan-Vietnam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, who is leading a delegation of Japanese enterprises to visit Vietnam.
The president spoke highly of Japanese investment in the country and promised that Vietnam will increase the quality of human resources while upgrading its infrastructure to attract even more Japanese enterprises to the country.
Vietnam also hopes to receive more support from the Japanese Government in the fields of workforce training, technological renovation and farm and aquatic product processing, he stressed.
He called on Japanese firms to intensify their investment in Vietnam in highly competitive fields such as agricultural machine manufacturing as an alternative to promoting electronic and auto industries like other regional countries.
Yoshihiko and Japanese delegates declared themselves delighted at the socio-economic changes in Vietnam. They said they want to know its plans to speed up economic development in the coming time.
During the meeting, President Sang answered Japanese guests’ petitions in relation to several Japanese investment projects in Vietnam.-VNA
