Vietnam to host Youth Ambassador event

A Mekong Sub-regional Tourism Youth Ambassador programme will debut from October 17 to 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.
A Mekong Sub-regional Tourism Youth Ambassador programme will debut from October 17 to 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.

60 student representatives from HCM City, Bangkok, Vientiane, Phnom Penh and Yangon - will gather in HCM City toparticipate in many exchange activities in cultural, sports and tourismsectors.

Particularly, the students will take partin the Mekong Sub-regional Tourism Youth Ambassador contest to seek atourism ambassador for the five cities to promote regional tourism tointernational friends.

Deputy Director of HCMCity’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism La Quoc Khanh saidthe programme, which will be held annually in participating cities, willbe an effective channel for tourism promotion through cultural exchangeactivities between young people in the region.

Theprogramme is being held following a joint statement of the CitiesMayors Summit in HCM City for regional tourism development in 2012and 2013.-VNA
