Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam always treasures and wishes to lift traditional friendship with Mongolia to a greater height for the benefit of the two countries, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told newly-accredited Mongolian Ambassador Bilegdorj Dash during a reception in Hanoi on April 17.

Congratulating Mongolia on its socio-economic achievements over the past years, Phuc said the two countries’ leaders agreed to facilitate high-level exchanges and cooperation across the fields of diplomacy, national defence-security, among others, as well as tap the role of the Inter-governmental Committee to boost economic-trade ties and increase mutual support at multilateral forums.

Vietnam is determined to build a constructive and action-minded government and willing to offer support to foreign enterprises, including those from Mongolia, to coordinate with Vietnamese partners, he said.

The host wished that during his tenure, the ambassador would accelerate the effective implementation of agreements reached by their leaders and study ways to lift two-way trade.

He suggested enhancing bilateral tourism and labour cooperation and expressed his belief that the ambassador would fulfill his assigned tasks to contribute to developing bilateral ties.

Dash, for his part, vowed to do his best to lift two-way trade on par with the two countries’ potential.

With strength in oil and gas and cotton, Mongolia wants to work closely with Vietnam, and vice versa, Vietnam which boasts strength in farm produce and fruits, could boost exports to Mongolia, he said.

He assured the host that more meetings of the Inter-Governmental Committee would be held to seek measures to intensify bilateral economic, trade, investment ties as well as people-to-people exchange.-VNA
