Hanoi(VNA) – Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh expressed his hope that NewZealand will share its experience in peacekeeping activities and strategicresearch while meeting New Zealand’s Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews inHanoi on March 15.

He spoke highly of the growing defence ties between New Zealand and Vietnamover the past time and wanted the country to continue cooperating in theexchange of high-level visits.

Ambassador WendyMatthews said her country is undertaking cooperation in some defence fields withVietnam, especially in improving the capacity of Vietnamese peacekeepingforces.

She expressed her hope that the cooperation between the two sides will thrivein the coming time.

On the day, Vinhalso received Tim Huxley, Executive Director of the International Institute forStrategic Studies (IISS) – Asia in Singapore.

Vietnam, Cambodia step up defence cooperation

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said his country values defence cooperation with Vietnam, pledging to support and facilitate Vietnam’s efforts to locate and repatriate the remains of the volunteer soldiers. Brazilian President begins state visit to Vietnam
