Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese athletes won two bronze medals at the AsianGymnastics Championships which closed in Mongolia on June 22.

SEA Games winner Le Thanh Tung grabbed his medal in the men’s horizontal barafter finishing third behind China's Hu Xuwei and Chinese Taipei's TangChia-Hung.

It was the first ever Asian medal for Vietnam in the horizontal bars event.

Tung who won gold at the Asian Championships in 2017 in the vault said he waslucky to have finished in the top three in a category that was not really hisforte.

It was a pity that he could take part in the vault this year because of anankle injury.

The second bronze went to Dinh Phuong Thanh in the men’s parallel bars behindChina's Liu Rongbing and Hu Xuwei.

China topped the medal tally with 10 golds. Chinese Taipei and Japan weresecond and third, while Vietnam finished 10th out of 11 teams. - VNA
