Hanoi (VNA) – A seminar promoting investment to high-tech industry is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on January 14 in a bid to draw foreign investment to the field in Vietnam.

The event will be hosted by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

It is designed to attract investment in line with economic growth orientations of Vietnamese localities, industrial parks and businesses, as well as help domestic enterprises access high technologies and join the global value chain.

Vietrade also plans various programmes to facilitate businesses, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises in exports and brand development through e-commerce. Particularly, the agency will join hands with Amazon Global Selling on the company’s international marketplace programme.

Vietrade General Director Vu Ba Phu said after 30 years, foreign direct investment (FDI) sector has become an important part in Vietnam’s economy, with remarkable contributions to the country’s socio-economic development. -VNA
