Vietnamese advised to avoid travel to coronavirus-hit areas in RoK

The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on February 21 recommended Vietnamese citizens to avoid travel to areas that are affected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and vulnerable to the virus in the country as warned by local competent agencies.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and theVietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on February 21 recommendedVietnamese citizens to avoid travel to areas that are affected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and vulnerable to the virus in the country as warned by localcompetent agencies.

The travel warning wasmade given the complex development of the COVID-19 in the RoK.

Vietnamese citizenswere also advised to keep a close watch and follow instructions of local competentagencies to prevent the illness.

The Ministry ofForeign Affairs has asked the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK to work with localcompetent agencies to learn more about the situation, keep in touch withVietnamese citizens in the country, establish a hotline and stand ready to takecitizen protection measures when necessary.

According to theembassy, as of February 21, no Vietnamese citizens had been infected with theepidemic.
