Moscow (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan held a working session with Chairman of the Ukraine - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Bragar Evgeni Vadimovich in Kiev on January 15.
The eight-member Ukraine - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, the ninth tenure, was established in early December 2019. Six of them were members of the ruling Servant of the People Party.
Ambassador Tuan reviewed highlights in bilateral ties over the past years, including politics, trade, investment, education-training and sports.
He said the Vietnamese government and people always remember support provided by Ukraine and hope to further develop bonds with the country in various areas.
Tuan hoped that both sides would enhance the exchange of delegations, including those from the legislature.
Bragar Evgeni, for his part, affirmed that Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, is one of the priorities in external policy of President Volodimir Zelensky’s administration.
As bilateral coordination remains modest, he said Ukraine is considering several measures, initially enhancing investment in tourism, apparel and education.
He hoped that there would be positive adjustments to visa issuance regulations and the opening of a direct flight route between the two nations.
On the occasion, Tuan invited his host to a seminar on President Ho Chi Minh scheduled for January 23, 2020 in Kiev./.
