Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Monaco Nguyen Thiep has presented his credentials to Prince of Monaco Albert II, who expressed his joy at the recent fruitful development of the relations between the two countries.

During a meeting on May 28, Prince Albert II expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s struggle for national independence as well as rapid and impressive development in the Doi moi (renewal) process.

He said that the two countries share interests in many issues, especially ocean, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Ambassador Thiep conveyed regards of President Tran Dai Quang and other leaders of Vietnam to the Prince.

Vietnam is looking forward to welcoming the Prince on his first official visit to Vietnam scheduled for this November, Thiep said, adding this will mark a new stage of development in the bilateral relations and help promote cooperation between the two sides’ business communities.

Prince Albert II wished the Vietnamese diplomat fulfill his duties during his tenure, thus contributing to expanding cooperation between the two countries.-VNA
