Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will take part in the Yonex Canada Open badminton tournament starting June 28 in Calgary.

World No 31 Minh is seeded No 5 in the men’s singles and has a bye to start from the second round on June 29.

His rival will be a winner of the match between Harsheel Dani of India and Timothy Chiu of the host.

Trang, world No 40, will play Laura Sarosi of Hungary in the women’s singles’ first round.

Trang will also be paired with Duong Bao Duc in the mixed doubles event, facing rivals Toby Ng and Rachel Honderich of Canada.

Duo Do Tuan Duc and Pham Nhu Thao will face another host pair, Austin James Bauer and Kyleigh O’Donoghue, in another match.

Duc and his teammate, Minh Bao, will then compete in the men’s doubles against Canadian Bauer and Ty Alexander Linderman.

The final matches are planned for July 3 at WinSport’s Markin MacPhail Centre, where top athletes will vie for a 55,000 USD prize.-VNA
