A Vietnamese businesswoman who was arrested in the Philippines for carrying a bullet in her purse has returned home, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh has said.

Hanoi (VNA) - A Vietnamese businesswoman who was arrested in the Philippines for carrying a bullet in her purse has returned home, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh has said.

The arrest took place at Ninoy Aquino airport on November 7, which was immediately informed to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, the spokesman said at a regular press conference in Hanoi on November 12.

The Vietnamese Embassy promptly launched necessary protection measures for Vietnamese citizens abroad, he told the conference.

After completing administrative sanction-related procedures required by the host country, the businesswoman came back home, the spokesman said.-VNA
