Vietnamese, DPRK senior party officials hold talks

Hanoi (VNA) - Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission forExternal Relations Le Hoai Trung held talks with visiting Director of the International Department of the Central Committee ofthe Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) Kim Song Nam in Hanoi on March 25.

At the event, Trung stated that the Vietnamese Party, State,and people always treasure the traditional friendship and cooperation with theWPK, Government, and people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK).

He proposed both sides enhance exchanges and contacts at alllevels to strengthen mutual understanding and develop the ties between theirparties and countries across various fields.

Trung went on to recommend the two countries effectivelyimplement existing cooperation mechanisms, expand their cultural, art,sports, people-to-people, locality-to-locality exchanges, and strengthen theircoordination at multilateral forums.

For his part, Kim, who is leading a delegation to visitVietnam from March 25 to 28, stressed his trip is to step upthe development of the Vietnam-DPRK friendship and collaboration and to discussmeasures to strengthen the sides’ party building work.

He affirmed that the Party, Government, and people of theDPRK value the traditional friendship with Vietnam and are pleased withthe development of the relationship shared between the two parties and countries.The DPRK is ready to work with Vietnam to promote ties, he affirmed.

During the talks, the officials discussed and evaluated theresults of cooperation between the commission and the department so far. Theyconcurred on cooperation measures, including further promotion of the role of the twobodies, and effective implementation of cooperation directions that were agreed upon by Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trongand Chairman of the DPRK’s State Affairs Commission Kim Jong-un during the latter'svisit to Vietnam in 2019./.

Bru–Van Kieu community in Quang Tri gear up for early voting

According to the provincial Election Committee, three polling stations in Truong Son commune – located in Hoi Ray, Nuoc Dang and Doc May villages – will organise voting on March 8, seven days before the nationwide election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, to make it easier for residents in remote areas where travel remains difficult to cast their ballots.

PM proposes “Talented, creative and dedicated women” award

This year’s award went to a group of female scientists from Hanoi University of Science and Technology for their research cluster on applying biocatalysis to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products. Vietnam, Russia step up cooperation in civil defence, emergency response

Looking ahead, the Vietnamese side expressed its wish that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation, focusing on the exchange of delegations at all levels, training programmes, sharing of experience in civil defence, disaster prevention and emergency management, and exploring search and rescue equipment.
