The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK held a New Year celebration on February 3.

Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Vu Quang Minhaffirmed that the strategic partnership between the two countries hasdeveloped spectacularly in many fields. He highlighted the visit ofParty General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the UK in the firstmonth of 2013 which resulted in several new cooperation frameworks.

On the occasion, the President of the Vietnam-UK FriendshipAssociation Len Aldis said 2013 is a special year which marks the 100 thanniversary of the Vietnamese leader Nguyen Ai Quoc (Ho Chi Minh)’sarrival in London and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties betweenthe UK and Vietnam.

The Tet celebration hosted bythe Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico on February saw the attendance of theoffice chief of Mexico’s Labour Party (PT), Senator Jose AlbertoBanavides and Cuban Ambassador to Mexico Dagoberto Rodriguez Barrera.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland, Bulgariaand Malaysia also organised similar events for the overseasVietnamese community.-VNA

Intellectual cooperation deepens Vietnam–France relations: expert

Ministry proposes seven-day 2027 Lunar New Year holiday

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal, civil servants and public employees in Vietnam would receive five statutory days off, including two days before and three days after the Lunar New Year. As two of those days fall on the weekend, they would receive two additional compensatory days off, bringing the total holiday to seven consecutive days.

Vietnam’s hiring outlook to see strong growth in Q4

In Vietnam, among 285 businesses surveyed, 52% expected to increase hiring in Q4, 16% planned to reduce hiring, while 32% intended to maintain their current workforce levels, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey.
