The Vietnamese embassy in Morocco held a get- together to celebrate the 2014 Lunar New Year (Tet) in Rabat on January 26, attracting about 150 overseas Vietnamese.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang highlighted the achievements Vietnam made in 2013, to which the overseas Vietnamese community made important contributions.

He also affirmed that the Party and State highly value overseas Vietnamese people and spoke highly of their role in national construction and defence.

Hong May, Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Morocco, said the overseas Vietnamese people always follow Party and State policies in the community.

She also expressed pleasure at the country’s achievements, and stated that Vietnamese people in Morocco never forget their homeland and are ready to contribute to the country’s development.

Participants at the event enjoyed typical Vietnamese Tet dishes, including “banh chung” (glutinous rice cakes) and spring rolls.-VNA
