Vietnamese-funded broadcasting facility in Laos inaugurated

The Vietnamese-funded radio and television broadcasting station was put into operation in Laos’ central province of Savannakhet on December 25 after three years of construction.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese-funded radio and televisionbroadcasting station was put into operation in Laos’ central province of Savannakheton December 25 after three years of construction.

The 10,000-square-metre facility was built at a total cost of nearly 115billion VND (4.9 million USD) sourced from the Vietnamese government’snon-refundable aid. It comprises a 135m-high antenna pole, working offices, andTV and radio broadcasting systems.

The project is one of the keycooperation activities between Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the LaoMinistry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Information,Culture and Tourism Savankhone Lazamunti said that the station helps increase radioand TV broadcast coverage in central Laos so that local residents are able toget a deep insight into the Party’s guidelines and the State’s regulations.

Also, it will make contributions to developing the special relations betweenthe two nations, he said, expressing his gratitude for the Vietnamese Party,State and people for supporting Laos in the past years.

This is the fourth broadcasting station in Laos sponsored by the VietnameseGovernment, following three in Champassak province in the south, and LuangPrabang and Udomxay provinces in the north.-VNA

People-to-people diplomacy contributes to Ho Chi Minh City’s development

Hanoi puts 28 more electric buses into operation

The new VinFast Green Bus vehicles, manufactured in 2026, have a capacity of 60 passengers. They are equipped with low floors for easier boarding, facilities for people with disabilities, air conditioning and other modern amenities to improve passengers’ comfort and travel experience.

500-day campaign brings fallen soldiers closer to home

Information provided by local residents in Son La province helped authorities find the remains of two fallen soldiers after four days of searching. At Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, 701 sets of remains and 304 sets of personal items have been recovered, while in Ca Mau province, more than 3,000 unidentified graves have been excavated and biological samples collected.
