Hanoi (VNA) – The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and the Cambodian Ministry of Inspection on June 10 signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation following a meeting between their leaders on June 10.

Receiving Minister Huot Hak in Hanoi, Inspector General Doan Hong Phong expressed his belief that the document will create a foundation for the two sides to enhance their cooperation in the time ahead.

He described the Cambodian delegation’s visit as a milestone and a vivid demonstration of the friendship and collaboration between the two agencies over the past years, adding it also offers an opportunity for them to exchange experience in inspection, citizen reception, and handing complaints.

For his part, Huot Hak thanked the Government Inspectorate for its support in personnel training and experience sharing, saying he believes that the visit will contribute to consolidating and deepening the relationship between the two countries following the official Vietnam visit by Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet in December 2023.

The two agencies signed the first MoU in 2005, the second in 2012, the third in 2016 and the fourth in 2023, he said, emphasising that the fifth one demonstrates their solidarity, friendship and good cooperation.

After the meeting, delegations of the Vietnamese Government Inspectorate and the Cambodian Ministry of Inspection held talks over their work in the first months of this year, and orientations for the remaining months./.
