Quang Tri (VNA) – The Border Guard High Commandin the central province of Quang Tri has been working with security forces fromLaos’ Savannakhet province to arrest two Lao suspects for trafficking 215,000 pills.

According to the High Command, it was the largest drugvolume seized in that part of the Vietnam – Laos border area.

In the afternoon of October 3, the forces caught two Laonationals red handed smuggling the pills, suspected of being Methamphetamine,from Laos to Vietnam.

The arrested were Savat Dixay Nhaxombat and BanpachitKeovilayvong, both born in 1995 and residing in Savannakhet. The two were saidto be significant members of a ring that has been involved in several massivedrug transactions.

Also seized at the scene were two cars with registered Laoplates and four cell phones.

The case is under further investigation./.
