Vietnamese, Lao supreme courts strengthen cooperative ties

Vientiane (VNA) – Supreme People’s Courts of Vietnam and Laos haveagreed to continue exchanging delegations at all levels to share experiences intrial, court management and judicial reform.

The consensus was reach at the talks betweenDeputy Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Thuy Hienand her Lao counterpart Khampha Sengdala in Vientiane on October 30.

The two officials expressed their delight at the sound cooperation between thecourts in personnel training, research and experience sharing, especially afterthe two Supreme People’s Courts inked a cooperation agreement in 2008.

They affirmed that the collaboration has brought benefits to the two countries’court systems, contributing to traditional cooperative relations between Vietnamand Laos.

Both sides agreed to develop a project on supporting Laos to establish administrativecourts under the people’s court system.

The same day, the Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to meet with Lao Ministerof Justice, Prosecutor General of the Lao Supreme People’s Procuracy and ChiefJudge of the Lao Supreme People’s Court.

The delegation will share judicial experiences with Lao courts on October 31.-VNA

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
