Hanoi (VNA) – Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh held talks with his RoK counterpart Yang Sung-tae in Hanoi on August 28 to seek ways to boost the cooperation between the two supreme courts.
Binh said that Vietnam and the RoK boast an extensive partnership in various fields, including judicial collaboration.
The two countries signed many judicial cooperation agreements, while their courts enjoy the growing partnership through many activities such as the signing of the memorandum of understanding on judicial exchange and cooperation, delegation exchanges, and personnel training support.
He briefed the guest on a number of major tasks of the Vietnam Supreme People’s Court, including the development of legal precedent, enhancement of adversarial process at court, and application of information technology. He also expressed hope to learn the RoK Supreme Court’s experience in the fields.
For his part, the RoK Chief Justice said the traditional fruitful relationship between the Vietnamese and Korean courts has been fostered by both sides towards new heights.
At the talks, the officials agreed to continue stimulating engagements between the two supreme courts, particularly in boosting technological application and improving judges’ capacity.-VNA
