Vietnamese musicians bring home medals

All of three representatives from the Vietnam National Academy of Music have won prizes in the second Asia-Pacific Electone (electronic organ) Festival (APEF) in Hong Kong which ended on Feb. 13.
All of three representatives from the Vietnam National Academy ofMusic have won prizes in the second Asia-Pacific Electone (electronicorgan) Festival (APEF) in Hong Kong which ended on Feb. 13.

Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong secured first prize in the pop music sectionfor entrants over 22, Le Thi Quynh took third prize in the over 22’sclassical music section and Le Hoang Thao won third in the pop musicsection for under 18.

APEF is an annual competitionspotlighting the skills and talents of Electone virtuosos. This year’sAPEF attracted more than 200 musicians from many countries andterritories including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan,Thailand and Singapore./.

Traditional Vietnamese martial art to be taught in Venezuela

Venezuelan Sports Minister Franklin Cardillo on May 7 expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the field of sports, particularly by introducing Vovinam, the Vietnamese traditional martial arts, into official training programmes in Venezuela, thereby making it the first country in Latin America to have a Vovinam martial arts school.
