Vietnamese national hero anniversary marked in Cuba

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung paid a visit to a Havana school named after Nguyen Van Troi, a Vietnamese national hero in the American war, to join the celebration of his 82nd birth anniversary (February 1, 1940 – 2022).

Havana (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba LeThanh Tung has paid a visit to a Havana school named after Nguyen Van Troi, aVietnamese national hero in the American war, to join the celebration of his 82nd birth anniversary (February 1, 1940 – 2022).

The event was also attended by representatives from the internationalrelations department of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee, CubanInstitute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and students of the school

In his remarks, Principal Diamikis de losMilagros Meriño said the school is honoured to be named after the Vietnamesemartyr who sacrificed his life for his homeland.

Tung, for his part, thanked the school and its students andteachers for their precious gesture, saying it vividly reflects the mutualunderstanding and special friendship between the two peoples. Though Vietnameseand Cuban people live half a globe away, they share believes and aspiration forindependence, freedom and human development, he emphasised.

He expressed his belief Cuban people will surmountcurrent difficulties and carry on with their revolutionary cause and that thecountry’s future generations, like those studying at Nguyen Van Troi School,will further nurture the long-standing friendship between the two peoples.

He took the occasion to hand over the donation from severalVietnamese governmental organisations to the school and tour the classrooms equipped with computers donated by Vietnam and used to offerinformatics lessons./.

Resettlement, site clearance for Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear plant gets underway

According to the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, the resettlement and site clearance project carries a total investment of about 6.7 trillion VND (about 255 million USD). Of the total, approximately 5.28 trillion VND is earmarked for compensation and site clearance, around 1.15 trillion VND for construction and equipment, and nearly 287 billion VND for project management, consultancy, other expenses and contingencies.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch first international direct flight on March 29

From March 29, passengers will be able to fly non-stop between Phu Quoc (Vietnam) and Taipei (Taiwan, China) on Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
