Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese player Phan Van Duc’s outstanding performance in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 semi-final first leg has earned him a place in the top five performers of the tournament so far, according to Fox Sports Asia.

Van Duc played a key role in Vietnam’s 2-1 win over the Philippines in an away match on December 2.

"His enterprise down the wing gave Philippines’ makeshift right-back Adam Tull all sorts of problems, and he also showed intelligence beyond his years with a perfectly-timed run in between two defenders to race through and score what proved to be the winner," the website said.

Fox Sports Asia also said his movement was brilliant throughout the match as he helped create space up top for the Golden Dragons.

The 22-year-old player has scored two goals in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.

The rest of the top five are midfielder Syamer Kutty Abba of Malaysia, defender Mika Chunuonsee of Thailand, forward Phil Younghusband of the Philippines and coach Tan Cheng Hoe of Malaysia.-VNA
