Vietnamese sappers build classrooms for underprivileged African children

Implementing humanitarian activities and supporting local people are among the regular tasks of Vietnamese peacekeeping forces at the United Nations missions. Recently, Vietnamese sapper team No. 2 at the Abyei region started building classrooms for impoverished children. This meaningful deed comes as the region is entering the rainy season.

The rainy season in Abyei not only makes roads difficult to access but also undermine classrooms, posing a high risk of collapse at anytime.

In response, Vietnamese sappers have voluntarily reinforced these classrooms to ensure the children’s safety.

In addition to building classrooms, Vietnamese sappers have also assisted locals in repairing boats, which are crucial for transportation, livelihood, and food delivery.

Two heavily damaged boats have been nearly restored and will soon be returned to the local people./.
