Hanoi (VNA) – During ten-year journey, the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) has mobilised hundreds of billions of VND to improve the health of and education for 11 million people, including five million children and two million youths.
Founded on December 16, 2014, the VSF has distinguished itself as a non-profit social organisation dedicated to the sustainable development goals, with a laser-focused mission of protecting and improving public health, particularly for children in difficult circumstances, and nurturing intellectual and physical potential among Vietnamese citizens.
At the foundation’s 10th anniversary event in Hanoi on November 15, VSF Chairwoman Tran Thi Nhu Trang underscored the foundation’s strategy over the past decade. It’s goal is to understand and create change, emphasising how the foundation has consistently placed itself in the shoes of parents, vulnerable women and young generations to create rational action.
Over the past decade, the foundation has embarked on a transformative journey rooted in understanding and driving meaningful changes in the lives of Vietnamese people. Guided by a commitment to professional, pioneering, and innovative approaches, it has developed with numerous impactful initiatives. Besides, it has successfully connected and mobilised community power to create positive and sustainable changes in the society, supporting vulnerable individuals and nurturing humanity towards the stature of the Vietnamese nation.
From remote mountainous villages, through regions devastated by natural disasters, to bustling urban streets where hardship still persists, the foundation has delivered timely and practical assistance to individuals, families and communities.
The foundation’s decade-long journey has yielded impressive achievements, including more than 110 million glasses of fresh milk and eight million nutritious meals for underprivileged children, over 100 billion VND (3.94 million USD) in scholarships for outstanding kids, 138 billion VND for community infrastructure projects, 109 billion VND for COVID-19 relief efforts. It has committed to building 1,000 school toilets worth 61.58 billion VND by 2030 while supporting the humanitarian blood donation programme and empowering nearly 17,000 women through skill and health training.

Trang said the foundation wants to become a premier social fund in Vietnam, focusing on school healthcare, child protection, and women’s development. It would promote targeted programmes as well as play a proactive role in advancing policies related to school health and nutrition for the Vietnamese people.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang praised the foundation’s strategic approach and noted its far-reaching impacts with sound implementation of strategies and programmes.

According to President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee Bui Thi Hoa, the foundation has convincingly demonstrated its goal of sustainability and community development. She expressed her hope that it will continue to join hands with key stakeholders to develop the country, particularly taking care of the younger generations.
Labour Hero Thai Huong, Founder and Chairwoman of the Strategy Council of the VSF, expressed her hope to promote legal corridors for school nutrition. She said as 86% of a person’s height develops between ages 2 and 12, school nutrition is the key to a nation’s health and stature.
Since Vietnam is moving towards a new era, an era of the nation’s rise, enterprises like TH Group – the main sponsor of the VSF – stands ready to join efforts to develop a law on school nutrition as soon as possible./.
