Hanoi (VNA) - "Just keep moving forward… Be resilient! Be kind! But after all, be yourself,” Principal of the TH School System Stephen West told students.
"May you grow in wisdom and love, and act courageously to choose what is right. I wish you to always be open to change and have the strength to embrace new and significant things in your life."
This heartfelt message from Headmaster of the TH School System Stephen West during a graduation ceremony held on June 7 to bid farewell to his beloved 12th-grade students stirred emotions among the participants.
Dedicated teachers
After four years of being part of the Happy School, starting from the ninth grade to today, donning the graduation gown and receiving the 12th-grade diploma, along with the A-level certificate, Nguyen Khanh Chi said she feels the love and dedication of teachers is one of the most wonderful things about TH School.
Looking back on the first days of studying at this school, Chi recalled feeling overwhelmed by the fact that her English wasn't as proficient as her classmates', her learning method was also quite different. However, the teachers were always kind and helpful, assisting her to quickly integrate into the new environment.
During the graduation ceremony, Chi expressed her gratitude to many people for sharing meaningful experiences at the school.
“Throughout the years of my study here, I met truly wonderful people,” Chi said, adding that they were Vietnamese teachers who were incredibly caring and attentive, and international teachers who were like angels, patient drivers and assistants, and friends who had become an integral part of her life.
“The dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to help from the teachers are the reasons why I stand here today," Chi said.
For An Nhien, the wholehearted companionship of the teachers in the TH School is an important spiritual support as she had to live far away from her family.
Traveling over a thousand km from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to study at the school, Nhien couldn't help but worry about the new environment. However, because she wanted to experience an international education environment and cultivate independence, she still chose the TH School.
Nhien said that initially she felt a bit lost as most of her classmates were from the northern and central regions. She also wasn't accustomed to listening, thinking, and understanding English-language assignments, which posed quite a challenge for her.
“However, the teachers have supported me enthusiastically, explaining issues very specifically, and helping me gradually adapt and integrate more easily,” Nhien said.
“In just a short time, the language barriers have been significantly broken. Now, I confidently integrate into any environment," she added.
Tram Anh said she is very happy to return to the school and she sent her gratitude to the teachers who have equipped her with knowledge and confidence to integrate internationally.
Addressing the event, Tram Anh, a former student of the TH School, emphasised how fortunate and happy she was to have met many dedicated teachers in the school.
She said she will forever cherish memories with these teachers, who were ready to answer emails about her assignments even after work hours or during holidays, and those who were willing to stay extra hours after class to teach her more about the lessons she didn't understand.
Since its inception, the TH School has always prioritised the philosophy of comprehensive education development while still focusing on exploring and nurturing the unique qualities of each student. Thanks to this approach, students have had the opportunity to experience and fully develop their abilities, achieving results that they can be truly proud of.
The curriculum of the TH School encourages initiative and respects personal experiences in subjects that students are passionate about. By completing the 12th grade with an A-level certificate, many opportunities have opened for students. This year's graduates have received numerous scholarships from prestigious universities, both domestic and international.
One notable example is Nguyen Khanh Chi who received a 75% scholarship, equivalent to 54,000 USD per year, from Yale University, which ranked 9th among the best universities globally and a member of the Ivy League - the top 8 prestigious universities in the US.
In the same class with Khanh Chi, Nguyen Dieu Anh also received a 90% scholarship worth up to 7.6 billion VND at Pomona College - one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the US. Meanwhile, Nguyen Tri Duc won a 90% scholarship from VinUni University - a prestigious university in Vietnam.
In addition to conquering top universities worldwide, TH School students have also won nearly 40 awards and medals ranging from city to international levels, across various fields, from academic disciplines such as debating, business case competition, and programming to talent subjects like piano, swimming, and chess. This aligns the vision of the school’s founder – Hero of Labour Thai Huong, aiming to cultivate a golden generation that benefits from quality international education and comprehensive education in Vietnam.
Keep moving forward and be yourself
“Today, the 12th-grade students have officially concluded their journey at the TH School. You should be yourself, take the time to understand yourself to determine your right path and unleash your full potential."
This is the message of encouragement and sharing from teachers, the principal, and also from Hero of Labour Thai Huong - the founder of the TH School - to the students before their new journey.
"There are no limits to what you can achieve. So, just keep moving forward… Be resilient! Be kind! But after all, be yourself,” Headmaster of the TH School System Stephen West told students.
“I want to share with you a quote from Edwin Elliot, a British mathematician: 'By being yourself, you put something wonderful in the world that was not there before.' Always remember to be the best version of yourself by embodying the core targets of the TH School that you have practiced throughout your years here. It's about having sound thinking, showing empathy, and acting with integrity. Let's spread the spirit of 'self-learning', 'confidence', 'creativity', and 'enthusiasm' throughout your future journey to contribute to the community," said Jane Ball, the Principal of TH School Hoa Lac.
Madam Thai Huong also advised students to uphold their values in the graduation ceremony.
"From my own experience, I want to advise you to stay calm, think carefully about which field to pursue to best utilise your inherent abilities. Rely on your own values and judge social trends to make suitable choices, rather than following the crowd. Once you know which industry you have the potential to thrive in, you will surely succeed," Huong said./.
