Prague (VNA) – Vietnamese war veterans in the Czech Republic recently gathered inPrague on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the VietnamPeople’s Army (December 22).
At the meeting, Duong Dinh Tuy, President of the Vietnamese War Veterans’ Associationin the Czech Republic, reviewed the development of the Vietnam People’s Armyover the past 74 years.
The participantspaid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national liberation andfreedom.
Colonel Cao HungTrang, defence attache and Nguyen Duy Nhien, President of the VietnameseAssociation in the Czech Republic lauded the important contributions of theVietnamese War Veterans’ Association to the Vietnamese community in the country.
Nhien urged the warveterans’ association to work with the Vietnamese Association to encourageVietnamese to abide by local laws and enhance the image of Vietnamese in thecountry.
Founded in 2017,the war veterans’ association has nine chapters and 500 members.
Over the years,the association has participated in movements to protect Vietnam’s sovereigntyover its sea and islands and support families of war invalids and martyrs, aswell as flood-hit residents and soldiers in border and island areas in thehomeland.-VNA
