A Vietnamese woman who married a man from the Republic of Korea and moved to Kangwon province has been murdered by her husband.
The man then committed suicide, leaving behind their five-month old child.
According to the provincial police, the woman’s mother-in-law discovered the dead body of her son in a warehouse and informed the police on the morning of January 14. Officers then found the woman’s body in the couple’s room the next day.
After conducting an autopsy, the police came to a preliminary conclusion that the husband strangled his wife.
The victim, Ngo Thi Nga, 21, from the northern port city of Hai Phong, came to the RoK in November 2012.
The Vietnamese Embassy is working with local authorities to help her family come to the RoK as soon as possible.-VNA
