An airplane of Vietnam Airlines (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Airport Ground ServicesCo. Ltd (VIAGS), a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines, has been recognised as aprovider of the best cargo handling service with the absolute score of 50/50 byKorean Air.
Vietnam Airlines said Korean Air assesses theservice quality of ground services companies by basing on seven major criteria,from security and safety ensuring, support resources, equipment maintenance tocargo transportation, training, services improvement and unexpected incidentresponse.
Aside from the Korean Air recognition, VIAGSrecently won eight service quality awards presented by famous carriers such asSingapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
In the first nine months of 2017, VIAGS servednearly 93,000 flights with over 28 million passengers, up 5 percent and 11percent from the same period last year. It also handled about 800,000 tonnes ofcargo, rising by almost 1.3 times year on year.
VIAGS was founded on January 1, 2016 basing onthe merger of three ground services firms which are now its subsidiaries at NoiBai, Tan Son Nhat and Da Nang international airports.-VNA
