Vietnam’s Hoang Thuy to compete for Miss Universe 2019 crown

Hanoi (VNA) – Hoang Thuy, the first runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam2017, will represent Vietnam at the upcoming Miss Universe 2019.

Born in 1992 in central Thanh Hoa province, Thuywon the Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2011 contest.

Since she bagged the first runner-up crown,Thuy has joined in various social activities, including raising publicawareness of environmental protection, and presenting houses and scholarshipsfor impoverished families and disadvantaged children.

Last year, Miss Vietnam H’Hen Nie made it into the top five in the MissUniverse competition. The top fivewas the furthest Vietnam has ever achieved at the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Launched in 1952, Miss Universe is among the world’s biggest annual beautycontests, along with Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth. –VNA

The relics will be open for public worship and veneration at Hanoi-based Quan Su Pagoda from 6 am to 9 pm from May 14-16. They will then be transferred to Tam Chuc Pagoda in the northern province of Ha Nam from May 17-21, before being returned to India.

Golf tournament marks 50 years of Vietnam–Germany ties
