(Photo: Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre) Hanoi (VNA) - Traditional water puppetry shows of theVietnam National Puppetry Theatre will be performed at the upcoming the 21st Festivalde L’Imaginaire in France from November 22-26 at the invitation of theMaison Des Cultures Du Monde (World Cultural House) director.
As revealed by the vice director of the theatre Nguyen Tien Dung,about 17 artists will join the tour.
The performances in France in November has supplemented the listof countries that the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre has been going on toursthis year.
Since this September, artists from the theatre group haveperformed in many arts events around the world, including the 5th China-ASEANTheatrical Festival Week; “Japan Festival” in Kanagawa, Japan; Gyeonggi AsiaArts Festival in the Republic of Korea; and "Tea in Mytischi"Festival, the fourth international puppet festival, organised in Mytischi City,Moscow.
Most recently, they have returned from art performances organisedfor overseas Vietnamese in Singapore at the invitation of the VietnameseEmbassy in Singapore. The event aimed to introduce Vietnam’s traditional artsforms and language to the audience, especially Vietnamese children overseas.
Particularly, a performance by theVietnam National Puppetry Theatre was awarded the highest prizeat the "Tea in Mytischi" Festival last September, which showcased 28excellent performances by 14 art troupes from eight countries - Argentina,Belarus, Brazil, Vietnam, as well as Germany, Lithuania,Moldova and host country Russia.
Vietnam’s performance titled Mau Sac Vietnam (Vietnam’sColours) impressed the audience with its unique cultural features,traditional tunes and colours of modern theatrical music of the country, byportraying lively poetic pictures of the landscape and everyday life.-VNA
