Vietnam’s SMEs promoted in Czech Republic

The Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VINASME) held a workshop in Prague on February 17 to help businesses in the Czech Republic learn firsthand about Vietnam’s business climate.

Prague (VNA) – The Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VINASME) held a workshop in Prague on February 17 to help businesses in the Czech Republic learn firsthand about Vietnam’s business climate.

Present at the event were 40 representatives from Czech business associations and enterprises.

Speaking at the workshop, VINASME Vice President and Secretary-General To Hoai Nam briefed attendees on SMEs in Vietnam. The country is home to about half a million micro, small and medium-sized enterprises which contribute to 50 percent of the economy’s investment, 45 percent of GDP and 30 percent of tax payment, he said.

The enterprises offered employment opportunities for close to 10 million full-time and about 2 million seasonal workers, Nam added.

The vice president also responded to inquiries from Czech participants about Vietnam’s policy on foreign investment attraction, prioritised industries, transparency in procedures for the grant of investment license and financial capability of local SMEs.

Attended Czech firms showed their interest in Vietnam’s market, particularly opportunities for exports.

On the occasion, Nam inked deals with vice president of the Czech association for SMEs Jiri Bellinger, president of the Czech-Vietnam association for industry and trade Vaclav Aubrecht, Director of marketing agency Finley Ondrej Nadvornik.-VNA
