Lastyear the population of UHNWIs in Vietnam grew to 116, six higher than in2013. The country's rich population was deemed the quickest growing inthe world. It's set to increase 159 per cent to about 300 by 2024.Vietnam is followed by Indonesia with 132 per cent and the Ivory Coastwith 119 percent.
According to the report, the global UHNWI population last year was 172,850. Their wealth totalled 20.8 trillion USD.
Theglobal UHNWI population will reach 230,000 by 2024, according to thereport. London had more than 4,300 wealth residents – the highest in theworld. New York in the US was ranked second.
About 1,180 peoplebecame centa-millionaires in 2014, taking the world's total populationof those worth over 100 million USD to 38,280. At the top of the wealthtree, 53 individuals became billionaires last year, pushing globalmembership of this exclusive club to 1,844 – an 82 percent rise from thenumber recorded in 2004.-VNA
