The National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will host the 16th United Nations Day of Vesak (UNDV) celebrations and international Buddhist conference in Ha Nam Province from May 12 to May 14.
Vesak is the most sacred day to millions of Buddhists worldwide. The UN General Assembly in 1999 recognised the Day of Vesak to celebrate the thrice-sacred event of the life of the Buddha Gautama.
Vietnam is now ready for UN Day of Vesak 2019 slated for May 12-14 at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Centre in Kim Bang district, the northern province of Ha Nam.
