The contest’s organising board said the prize winning logo, inspired by the star in Vietnam’s national flag, shows the reviewed vitality of a newly-emerging Vietnam with its unique national identity, while the slogan reflects the uniqueness, independence, and new vision of Vietnam – an attractive destination in Asia.
The organising board presented the second prize to the logo “Vietnam – a country of smile” and the third prize to “Vietnam – the pride of Asia”.
The contest, held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), aims to promote Vietnam’s image to attract more international visitors within the framework of the national tourism development programme for the 2011-2015 period and the national tourism development strategy for the 2010-2020 period and vision for 2030.
The contest received a total of 413 entries since its launch in August 24, 2010.
In the 2010-2020 period, the tourism sector hopes to raise the number of foreign visitors by 10-15 percent and that of domestic visitors by 15-18 percent./.
A logo slogan “Vietnam – a Different Orient” has won a contest to design a new logo-symbol for the national tourism promotion programme for the 2011-2015 period.
