VinFast to attend global EV show in Canada

VinFast, Vietnam’s first electric vehicle (EV) maker, has announced it will attend the 2023 Fully Charged Live show, held for the first time in Canada from September 8-10.

Hanoi (VNA) – VinFast, Vietnam’s first electric vehicle (EV)maker, has announced it will attend the 2023 Fully Charged Live show, held forthe first time in Canada from September 8-10.

At the event, VinFast will display its two key electric carmodels in the Canadian market, the VF 8 and VF 9. Frequent participation inmajor exhibitions in Canada strongly affirms VinFast's presence in one of thekey global markets.

Fully Charged Live is a series of EV and sustainabilityshowcases organised in Australia, Europe, the UK and North America since 2018.The 2023 edition will be the first of the series ever held inCanada. The event will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre, featuringElectric Mobility providers, vehicles from across the industry and companieswith a green focus.

Currently, the VF 8 is on sale across Canada starting at53,600 CAD (39,277 USD) and features an industry leading warranty which coverseach vehicle for 10 years/200,000 km and the high-voltage battery for 10 yearsand unlimited km. The VF 8 offers luxury styling and a range up to 425km. Thelarge, three-row VF 9, starting at 103,750 CAD is now open for reservations.

Ho Chi Minh City targets third-quarter growth of over 11%

Domestic consumption up over 13%, tourism continues strong growth

The total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenues in August were estimated at 679.8 trillion VND (26 billion USD), up 1.6% from the previous month and 14.9% year-on-year. In the January-August period, the figure reached 5.24 quadrillion VND, representing a 13.3% increase year-on-year.

Hanoi moves to maintain appeal to FDI inflows

In the first eight months of 2026, the capital city attracted more than 3.7 billion USD in FDI, equivalent to 83% of the plan set for the year. Newly registered FDI exceeded 572 million USD across 450 projects, up 175.78% in project numbers and 209.46% in capital compared to the same period last year. Resolution No. 258/NQ-CP, dated August 31, 2026, calls for substantive and comprehensive reform, with a focus on maximum cuts and simplification of administrative procedures and business conditions.
