Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s leading real estate and retail conglomerate Vingroup has announced a Science and Technology Scholarship Programme for Overseas Study for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees for talented students.
The group will provide 1,100 fully funded scholarships for Vietnamese students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in countries with leading science and technology institutes such as the US, Russia, France and Israel.
The programme will run until 2030. The recipients will study in priority fields including artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, cloud computing, information security, cryptology and renewable energy.
The objectives of the programme are to find talented Vietnamese to mentor and develop them and provide rewarding opportunities so that they have the ability to lead and advance science and technology in Vietnam in the future.
The scholarship is open to all Vietnamese applicants who are patriotic, talented, resilient, and passionate about contributing to the development of science and technology in Vietnam. Applicants must not be over 30 years of age at the time they start their master’s degrees and under 35 for the doctoral level.
Vingroup will cover all the expenses incurred during the master’s programmes, including tuition fees, living expenses, round trip airfares and insurance.
Information on employment, internship, and research opportunities or research projects in Vietnam will be regularly updated to recipients so once they return to the country, they can fully optimise their talents and capabilities.
Le Mai Lan, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and Executive Director of the VinUniversity Project, said there was a great demand for high-quality human resources in the field of science and technology.
“We strongly believe that the programme will contribute to creating generations of high-quality Vietnamese talents, positioning Vietnam better in the world’s technology map and heading towards global competition,” she said.-VNA
