Hanoi (VNA) - Firmly protecting the ideological foundation of the Party and refutingwrongful and hostile views play a vital role in Party building andrectification, an officer has said.

This is a coretask to which the Party has attached importance since its inception, MajorGeneral Dang Ngoc Tuyen, Director of the Internal Political Security Departmentat the Ministry of Security, told the media.

Since the birthof the Party and especially during its 35 years of reform, Vietnam has postedmajor achievements in national construction and defence, the Major General said.

Such achievementshave proven that Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought will forever serveas the ideological foundation and the lodestar for the Vietnamese Party andrevolution.

The Party’spolitical platform will continue to lead the country to firmly push ahead withreform and provide a foundation for the Party to further complete the path towardsnational construction and defence in the new era, he said.

Over the pasttime, hostile and reactionary forces have taken advantage of the organisationof the 13th National Party Congress and preparations for theelection of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’sCouncils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure, as well as complexdevelopments in the region and internationally, to spread misinformation,incite protests, cause information turbulence, sow doubt, and drive a wedgeinto the great national unity bloc.

Given this, the People’sPolice have handled nearly 500 cases of posting and sharing distortion, issuedwarnings against more than 1,000 people who spread wrongful information, andverified 500 individual and group Facebook accounts, fanpages, and YouTubechannels that frequently publish false information, Tuyen said.

The results postedin protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, refuting wrongful and hostileviews, and handling malinformation over the past have contributed significantlyto safeguarding the Party and the regime and maintaining the country’spolitical security, contributing to the success of all-level Party congressesand the 13th National Party Congress./.

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.
