Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh should promote their comprehensive cooperation further for the benefit of both cities and peoples.

Phnom Penh Party Committee Secretary and Mayor Kep Chuk Tema and the Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Le Thanh Hai, suggested this at their meeting on April 23 in Ho Chi Minh City .

Hai praised the delegation for visiting Ho Chi Minh City . He also reviewed recent cooperation between the two cities in the fields of socio-economics, health care, education and culture.

Several joint projects between the two cities have produced good results, especially the project to build the 500-bed Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital , said Hai.

Kep Chuk Tema said he is impressed with the rapid development of relations between both countries and said he hopes they will strengthen cooperation in the future.

He confirmed that both countries will continue to organise trade fairs, exhibitions and economic forums as well as create the best possible conditions for businesses from boths countries to seek out opportunities in both cities in the future.

Kep Chuk Tema also thanked Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders for helping people in Phnom Penh and other parts of Cambodia to access health check-ups and receive medical treatment in the city.-VNA
